Color Trends

Color trends in logos, fashion and interior design are fascinating. Over time, consumers tastes in colors change radically. In the 1950s, pink, mint green and aqua were all the rage. There’s a whole industry built around developing and predicting the next color trends. One interesting site that tracks the latest trends in fashion is The Pimkie Color Forecast. The Pimkie Color Forecast analyzes webcam footage to provide infographics detailing current fashion trends in Paris, Milan and Antwerp (who knew) in real time. I’m not sure how accurate it is, but it’s novel and nicely designed. Under the Pimkie Suggests tab, you can click on a color and get suggestions for trending colors in a variety of women’s cloths. Of course, you can purchase those cloths in their online store. Here’s a video of how it works.
