The Effect of Color

Subconsciously, we all know the language of color. We may not speak it in the same way, but we all experience it and use it in our daily lives.

Color theory is the study of how we combine color in the creation of art, media, apparel or anything colorful. It’s always evolving and is interrelated with the events happening in the world around us. As part of their “Off Book” documentary series, PBS recently recently created a great video called “The Effect of Color”. It’s a short video but covers a good bit of ground by talking to color psychologists, artists and others who specialize in the study of color. The video’s embedded below. Enjoy!
